Middletown, Ohio Water Leak Location

Middletown, Ohio water leak location service was for a home that had a large barn with a water leak between in the water line running from the home to the barn. After listening to the water leak in the basement of the home I could tell that the water leak wasn’t near the home. I then proceeded out to the barn and listened at the old Murdock hydrant and couldn’t hear anything there either. I listened for the water line leak at multiple locations between the home and the barn and couldn’t hear a thing, so I hooked up the air compressor to the hydrant to evacuate the water line with compressed air. With the old hydrant closed all the way I turned on the air compressor and noticed that it didn’t gain any pressure at all, telling me that the hydrant was leaking profusely. I let the air compressor run and listened again at the valve next to the hydrant and could hear the air bubbling up through the water, indicating that the leak was either at the water valve in the ground or the Murdock hydrant. I ran helium to double check the “obvious” and had a substantial reading between the hydrant and the ground valve. Case solved! NOTE: usually the reason for a water leak not making any noise is when the area around it is completely submerged and the water is blasting out into a pool of water, thus silencing the water line leak and making the water leak location almost impossible without using additional techniques.
